What is CBT?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a goal-oriented, practical, and evidence-based treatment for anxiety and mood disorders. Researched and designed to explore how our thoughts and long-held beliefs influence how we feel and behave, CBT is a proven and effective treatment for many people, regardless of age or concern.

Learn to change distressing thoughts

Distressing thoughts cause and maintain high levels of anxiety even if such thinking is false or not entirely true, and distorted, depressive thinking fuels feelings of hopelessness and despair. CBT aims to identify and challenge such negative thought patterns to offer hope for change and relief.

Learn problem-solving skills

CBT teaches skills for changing thinking patterns, problem-solving, and gradually exposing ourselves to situations and activities we have been avoiding. This support and new mindset enable us to learn new ways of thinking and acting that are more in tune with how we want our lives to be.

CBT is an active approach for tackling anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic pain, OCD, and more

CBT is not a passive treatment approach. If the expectation for therapy is that one attends weekly appointments for a therapist to “fix” a problem, positive change is unlikely to happen. CBT is successful because individuals are ready to take on challenges, participate in exercises between sessions, and sometimes delve into uncomfortable emotional territory. Our therapists are supportive, compassionate, and highly trained to help get you to where you want to be.
